But on average they will do less per battle. Im not trying to say TX carriers cant deal damage - in fact they probably are capable of higher "records" then TIX. Even tier 9-10 DDs can be made to dominate planes. If you DONT get uptiered, there is a huge difference in both tier 7 vs 8 cruisers and BBs (well with exception of Atlanta and Gneisenau which both are powerhouses at 7), as well as tier 9 vs 10 cruisers. And still has to go around Midway fighters.
That means that Midways have less strike power, but also Hakuryu actually struggles - where Taiho could basically play "0 game" with fighters while striking in meantime, Hakuryu bleeds fighters (and definitely can run out of them). Also the setup on Midway changes to 2-1-2 (by far superior to 1-1-3). So if you get uptiered nothing really changes, except your planes are slightly more durable and you have more of them. so that is where the tier IX CV gets its damage by farming tier 7's the pain barrier is jumping from tier 7 AA to tier 8 AA. plus the jump from BB AA from tier 9 to tier 10 isn't that big. On the US side, you have 46 more planes and you have more survivabe planes to boot. you often get tier 10 games in a tier 9 CV anyway at the moment.
